Materiali Sonori

Materiali Sonori is an Italian label uniting different artist for this eclectic compilation, in order to present their multiple projects. One starts with Masala, with an electronic and melodic ambient track, with ethnic and jazz rhythms . Militia reconciles the new - wave of their beginnings with the actual sounds, for a very convincing result. The quartet composed of P. Howard, C. Hayward, F. Frith and B. Laswells propose an excellent romantic walk anchored in the 80's. Third Ear Band is in the same register that these last ones, close to Aztec Camera but a lot more experimental. Harmonia excels on a short frivolous and melancholic piano piece. Novum Gaudium / Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan enter in an universe between gypsy music mixed to oriental songs. Nicola Alesini and Pier Luigi Andreoni bring us into the meanders of their monkish melancholy associated to a rich and various instrumentation. Arlo Bigazzi crosses the arid regions of his acoustic inspiration for a very successful result. Arturo Stalteri moderates his ardors on a quiet piano piece of an immediate beauty. The trio Harold Budd, Daniel Lentz and Jessica Karraker present three spoken words on apocalyptic resonant funds. One ends with the veterans Tuxedomoon , faithful to themselves, with a cover of the Michael's Theme. A very interesting compilation, presenting us some underestimated artists . Materiali Sonori reminds us by its gait the best years of Crammed Discs and of Minimal Compact, with an infectious nostalgia.
