JANITOR - Receiving a flower on
Mother's Day -
CD - 7 tracks - Tesco Organisation- 2002
New opus from Janitor, a formation in which evolve Lina Baby Doll and Benny Nilsen, 'Receiving a flower
on Mother's Day' is composed of tracks recorded between 1997 and 2002. The album, released some time ago
by Tesco, is the musical and artistic expression of a total retreat of the two men, who for this occasion
isolated themselves in a small house lost in the forest, far from any alcohol and any trace of
civilisation...
The result is surprising, a mixture of dark ambient, ritual passages alternating with more tribal
and power noise sonorities… The cover of Nico's 'All that is my own', already present on the previous
mini album 'Ritchie', is alone worth the detour... while 'Mother's womb' enchants by its post-industrial
ritual rhythm...
All in all, a very diverse album, rich of its experimentations, contrasts and post-industrial frenzy,
that should not disappoint all those who are curious to listen to the fruits of this collaboration...
