In the way of the first single, 'ars militaria' contains twelve tracks of heroic, bombastic and martial music... The 'orchestral' compositions are built upon the usual historical speeches, strong percussions, choirs, menacing over-layered soundscapes... Not really innovative and the influences are quite obvious from Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio (bells on 'Mother of Pain') to Karjalan Sissit, Sophia, Predella Avant... Even the compulsory French spelling mistake which was quite usual (and gave a lot of credibility to the project) for some post-industrial-martial acts at a time was not forgotten here with 'Marche du capitulation' based upon a sample of De Gaule's famous call, fanfares, trumpet, percussions...
The normal edition of this cd is limited to 400 copies and comes in a jewel-case; as for the special edition of 100 copies (with inserts) that came in a box set, it is already sold out.

All that said, it's a well-constructed and solid album that should please amateurs of neoclassical compositions full of militaristic atmosphere.
